ABERDEEN, S.D. — Northern State University men’s basketball coach Don Meyer was on national television has been presented with the Jimmy V Award 2009 for Perseverance. he is winningest men’s basketball coach gave his acceptance speech at ESPN annual ESPY awards.

Meyer lost part of his leg and battled cancer after surviving a near-fatal car accident. He was driving a car that collided with a truck last September, during surgery doctors found out Meyer had cancer in his liver and intestines, he was accepted the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance for his recovery.
