Abhay Deol Moves Back to Mumbai

Actor Abhay Deol didn't bother to linger in Mumbai and reap in the accolades which kept on pouring in after the release of Anurag Kashyap's Dev D. He did a very un actor thing and decided to disappear to New York. A bad strategy some would have said. But that has not deterred makers from casting him in their films.

Now Abhay is back from the States and will probably be starting work on Anil Kapoor's Productions' next, Ayesha, which stars Sonam Kapoor in the lead role. Among the many filmmakers who must be very glad to have him back would be Dibakar Banerjee, who plans on making another film with Abhay after Oye Lucky Lucky Oye. In fact, Dibaakar has gone so far as to say that without Abhay, there would have been no Lucky. In fact, he thinks of Abhay for every film that he makes. His next movie is a political thriller and prizes for guessing that Abhay figures in a major way in the movie. The prodigal son of the Deol family who has never done the safe and secure thing like his siblings Sunny and Bobby, today Abhay is a much in demand actor and has a career graph which is steadily moving up. Not every new entrant to Bollywood can manage that. But Abhay has somehow managed this coup and is today accepted by the industry with his quirks and all. Not a bad beginning, one would say.
