Damien Echols on 17 years of 'hell'

Posted by DAREDEVIL Sunday, July 25, 2010

The Jonesboro Sun today begins a four-part series based on interviews with Damien Echols, under a death penalty for 17 years in the slayings of three West Memphis children. He continues to profess his innocence and describes his life behind bars as "pure hell." Readers' degree of sympathy will, naturally, tend to correlate with their belief in the guilt or innocence of Echols and the other two men convicted in this badly flawed case.
