Purple Google - Search With Colors

Posted by DAREDEVIL Thursday, November 26, 2009

Everyone's searching for "Purple Google" this morning and I decided to do a little digging to find out what it meant. Turns out that some smarties out there have figured out how to create the Google homepage in various bright colors. And guess what? It's all fine by Google!

Since Google allows their search engine to be embedded into users' personal blogs and sites it was only a matter of time before Purple Google came along. Actually, to be correct it's Google Purple and the maker has several other colors you can choose from to make your Google homepage. You can find them all here. Me personally? I'll stick to the regular Google homepage. I love seeing all the different themes they have. But if color's your fancy then check Google Purple out!

Here are some FAQ's about Google Purple:

Q: Does Google Purple really use a Google Search?
A: Yes! Google allows web designers to embed a real Google Search box in their websites through Google's Adsense program, and this is exactly what Google Purple uses.

Q: Is Google Purple run by Google itself?
A: No. I created Google Purple myself rather than making unreasonable demands of the very busy Google company. (i.e. "Dear Google, please make an purple version of your search engine just for me, thank you.")

Q: If I make Google Purple my home page, will I log on someday and find advertisements all over the page?
A: No way. The simplicity of Google is something I greatly admire, so Google Purple will remain as serene as the search engine to which it is a tribute.

Q: Aren't you worried Google will sue you or something?
A: Google's motto is "Don't Be Evil," and I'd like to think they'd understand that this website is an expression of my admiration for their company. Since Google purple and its sister sites all use a Google Search, I feel that they both encourage people to continue to use Google, and show that Google has creative fans who admire their work.
