The fifth season of ABC’s The Bachelorette drew to a close on Monday night when ‘Bachelorette’ Jillian Harris chose Ed Swiderski to propose to her from her on the finale of the show.

Jillian chose Ed over Kiptyn Locke. So congrats to Ed Swiderski on being the winner of The Bachelortte season 5.

Harris was chosen as the ‘Bachelorette’ after Jason Mesnick rejected her on the 13th season of The Bachelor.

Bachelorette Jillian Harris ended the suspense tonight at the final rose ceremony of the season by selecting Ed Swiderski, who promptly got down on one knee and proposed.

Jillian let down Kiptyn Locke, the other finalists, and seemed headed for a straight-forward happy ending until the producers allowed a previously dismissed contestant to make a final plea for Jillian’s hand in marriage. Philadelphian Reid Rosenthal got down on one knee, touching off a brief moment of indecision for Jillian.

Still, Jillian turned to Ed, the career-driven technology consultant from Michigan who left the show voluntarily at one point to attend to work, only to return as a sudden favorite.

“There is no doubt in my mind that I’m madly in love with you,” Jillian told Ed. “It was so hard for me not to tell you how I feel.”

“I want to be with you forever. I want you to give me a hard time when I’m 80 years old,” Ed said while on one knee. “Jillian, will you marry me?”

“Absolutely,” she replied. “Do you have any idea how much fun we’re going to have together?”

The episode began on the big island of Hawaii and a date with her parents, Ed Swiderski and his chest hair. He admits to her folks that he used to be married to his girlfriend in Chicago job, but now is here because he loves Jillian.

Ed’s goes really well, with no sign of performance anxiety. He confesses that he wants to be with Jillian … forever. Hard to top that, although Kiptyn Locke tries, saying he’s ready to commit and wants Jillian to – OMG – move to San Diego.

Standing on a platform atop an awesome infinity pool, Jillian told Ed, “There is no doubt in my mind that I love you. I wanted to tell you for so long.”

“I want you to be with me forever,” Ed said. He dropped down on his knees and proposed. Jillian jumped into his arms and shouted, “Absolutely!”

Swiderski, a 29-year-old technology consultant from Chicago had previously left the show citing work obligations. However, Ed had a change of heart and returned, telling Jillian he couldn’t stop thinking about her.
